Network Audio Streaming Platform

A flexible, certifiable streaming platform supporting major audio services across high-end audio products.

The Project

PS Audio Inc, a leading high-end audio manufacturer, needed a network streaming platform for use across streamers, streaming DACs, and DAC-preamplifiers.

The platform needed to support Roon, Qobuz, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and DLNA, while giving the client greater flexibility, maintainability, and control over future product development.

Our Solution

Grinalds Solutions developed an embedded streaming platform built on a cost-effective single-board computer with strong compute headroom.

Each streaming service runs as an isolated software component, allowing individual services to be updated, debugged, and maintained without disrupting the rest of the system.

Technical Implementation

The platform combines certified and SDK-based integrations with mature protocol implementations where appropriate.

A unified audio management layer coordinates playback through ALSA, while secure OTA update mechanisms and remote diagnostic tools support long-term field serviceability.

Results

The platform achieved Roon Ready certification after close coordination with Roon's validation team.

The finished system supports multi-protocol playback, safe field updates, remote diagnostics, and reuse across a broader high-end audio product ecosystem.
